60 years ago the Daughters of Charity came to San Antonio to make a difference in the lives of the poor and vulnerable. This MISSION is carried on today at Ascension DePaul Services. As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, we look forward to providing services that will IMPACT more than one generation of the families we serve by providing services that help break the cycle of poverty. Financial education, employment readiness, and focusing on the social determinants of health are desperately needed in South San Antonio and we are here to meet those needs. Our programs provide early childhood education, medical and dental care, counseling, wellness services, case management, and food assistance at FIVE centers across South San Antonio. People rely on us in their time of need and we rely on our donors to help us keep our doors open so we can serve the community. Recently Lourdes visited DePaul Family Center for emergency food and the Ascension DePaul Services case manager found out she had an upcoming job interview, but no professional clothing to wear for the interview. In our clothing closet she found something appropriate to wear and aced her interview. She got the job and is one step closer to pulling herself, and her children, out of poverty. Ascension DePaul Services helps THOUSANDS of people in Lourdes’ situation and doing so relies on significant support from our donors. With an annual budget exceeding $6 million, our donors play a vital role in our success. This year, our annual campaign is designed to make an IMPACT in South San Antonio.
